I called A Superior Mechanical because I needed help locating the sewer cleanout valve for my home in Niceville, which was built in 1978. I explained the situation over the phone and was assured that one of their technicians would be able to locate the cleanout or install one if the house was not equipped with one. The following day, two technicians arrived and spent approximately 30 minutes probing the ground with a screwdriver. I explained that I had already tried this myself and even provided them with a longer probing rod because the screwdriver they brought was not long enough to reach the area they were searching. After about 30 minutes, they told me they could not locate the cleanout and recommended that I contact the county to have the sewer line marked from the street. They then left without accomplishing anything. I later received a $125 service charge, despite no actual service being performed. When I questioned the charge, I was told that I would not be charged another $125 service fee if they returned after the county marked the line. However, I don't understand why I would want the same company to return and charge me again after they were unable to perform the job during the first visit. In my opinion, this reflects poor management and a lack of concern for the customer. If a company sends technicians to locate a sewer cleanout and they are unable to do so after 30 minutes of simply probing the ground with a screwdriver, charging the customer $125 for the visit seems unreasonable. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend A Superior Mechanical. I expected professional service and a reasonable effort to solve the problem, and I feel I received neither.
