Matt has been incredible for my dad. After my dad had a stroke back in October, our family was honestly just hoping to see small improvements, but Matt has completely exceeded expectations. My parents came out from Vermont to San Diego to get out of the cold, and getting my dad the right care was a big priority. From day one, Matt was thoughtful, patient, and really took the time to understand where my dad was at and what he needed. The progress has been amazing to watch. My dad has gained back a lot of mobility in his arm and hand, and his posture has improved more than we thought possible in this amount of time. Justine is truly the best, and she has been the biggest blessing in my recovery story. I started working with Justine after being diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) in early June. I was in the hospital for 6 days and then transferred to an acute rehabilitation center for an additional 12 days. I have been an athlete my entire life and played soccer in college, so suddenly having my brain and nervous system send and receive signals differently, affecting my movement, sensation, coordination, and so many other functions, I was completely terrified and devastated. From the very beginning, Justine understood not only my FND, but she understood me in a way I could not have explained to anyone else. She knew HOW to help. While I am grateful for my time spent in the rehabilitation center...I wish I had found Justine and Matt before that, because they really have changed my outcome. Justine taught me to trust my body again; she is incredibly intelligent and knowledgeable about FND (which is really hard to find). She can explain everything in a way that you can really understand what is going on internally. But what is so special about Audia PT is that Justine and Matt genuinely care about their patients. I have primarily been working with Justine, but Matt has gone above and beyond in helping find doctors to add to my healthcare team. Just so supportive and so helpful! When I first started with Justine about 9 weeks ago, I was using a wheelchair and walker. At the VERY first appointment, I WALKED out of the building to the car, no walker and no wheelchair. In just a little over two months, I have gone from being in a wheelchair to walking, to running with minimal to ZERO tremors and/or symptoms. I can confidently say I would not be in the position I am today without the guidance and support from Audia Therapy. Justine hasn't just helped my progress physically, but she has helped rebuild my confidence in myself to believe I can return to my new normal. She has pushed me, and we have laughed and had fun too!

Dr.Audia is wonderful! My husband and I had the opportunity to come to San Diego a few months after his stroke, and were referred to Audia Physical Therapy, as they specialized in stroke recovery. My husband received treatment for two months, and would have stayed longer if we didn’t have to return home to Vermont. Dr. Audia was thorough with his assessment of my husband’s needs, prescribed a treatment plan for his deficit areas, and followed through in detail with his personalized therapy each visit. He provided notes and videos to us on follow up home exercises, to help continue my husband’s progress. Dr. Audia was always kind, gentle, friendly, supportive, understanding, and encouraging at each of our visits. We only wish we could have accessed his help longer. It was comforting to know that he, as he stated, was only a text, email, or call away if we had any questions or concerns as we left. We highly recommend Audia Physical Therapy.
