Aveneu is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. In an era when grocery shopping increasingly means dealing with faceless multinational chains that have little connection to the communities they serve, it's refreshing to have a small, locally owned grocery store right here. The owners clearly care about bringing fresh produce and quality options to the neighborhood, and you can feel that personal touch every time you walk in. Being a smaller store, it won't have every single item on your list — but the selection is solid, and the convenience of having a good grocery option right in the community more than makes up for it. I'd rather make an extra stop somewhere else for the odds and ends than give my business entirely to the big chains. Supporting a local owner-operated business like this one, instead of pouring more money into massive corporate grocery consolidation, feels good. Aveneu is proof that small, community-focused businesses can still thrive and I hope we can all support it to drive home that point. I highly recommend stopping in.
