AVOID THIS DENTIST — WE FELT COMPLETELY RIPPED OFF Our experience at this dental practice was absolutely appalling from the moment we walked through the door. We came in for an emergency appointment, expecting to be treated professionally and with basic respect. Instead, the dentist JASMINE was extremely rude, dismissive and condescending towards us. We felt she was deliberately speaking to us as though our English was poor and treating us like we were stupid. The way we were spoken to was completely unacceptable. Instead of properly listening to our concerns and focusing on the emergency problem we had come in to address, the dentist immediately started criticising my teeth, telling me I had cavities and that my teeth were deteriorating. This came as a shock because I had recently been seen by another dentist, and none of these issues had been raised with me. We were left questioning the accuracy and motivation behind these claims. She also suggested removing my wisdom tooth, despite the fact that we had come in for an emergency issue and were simply looking for appropriate treatment. We felt that instead of genuinely helping us, the consultation was being used as an opportunity to find additional problems and push us towards further treatment. To make matters worse, all we wanted was a prescription for antibiotics, if medically appropriate, but we were told we would have to pay £35 just for the prescription in addition to the £29 emergency appointment fee. The entire experience left us feeling like we were being ripped off and taken advantage of at a time when we needed urgent dental care. We walked out feeling extremely disappointed, insulted and completely ripped off. We have never experienced such a rude and unprofessional attitude from a healthcare professional. We strongly advise people to think twice before going here. Based on our experience, we felt that the priority was not to help us with our emergency but to criticise our teeth and charge us as much as possible. We will absolutely never return, and we are writing this review to warn others about our experience so they can make an informed decision before choosing this practice.

I had an emergency appointment with Dr. Abdel at Blackwater Dental Surgery and received excellent care. He was professional, reassuring, and explained all my treatment options, recommending the most suitable and affordable one. Although the treatment was a little expensive, the excellent outcome made it worthwhile. The surgery was clean, the booking process was excellent, I had 2 calls straight after I entered my online query and the whole team was friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Blackwater Dental Surgery.

I attended Blackwater Dental Surgery on a Sunday as an emergency after calling NHS111 following a weeks of tooth pain. I was met by a lovely receptionist, Sam, who was empathetic and kind. I needed the tooth removed, which was very upsetting as I had a deep root canal years before because I wanted to save the tooth. My treatment was in 3 stages, which was all done whilst other patients kept their appointment slots. This gave me time to take in what was happening and to discuss the costs and a payment plan with Sam. Firstly I had the tooth out, which did not come out in one due to the root canal, however, I did not feel any pain. Then I had a face scan and then the drilling!! for the implant. Ahmed was very gentle and explained the process as we went along. After the stitches I was pretty exhausted and emotionally drained. Sam was always so kind, with each stage of me going back to the waiting room, and Ahmed offered me additional pain meds. I went back for a check up for the stitches and another visit as I was concerned that I could feel a lump where the implant was healing. Ahmed assured me everything was healing as expected and that the lump would settle, it was the bone fragments. I returned for the crown to be fitted, which was painless. The colour match and fit was perfect, I am very pleased. During the original discussion on the payment plan I did not understand that it did not include the crown. Sam called me and explained the mix-up, I was mortified that I hadn't understood the costs (but then I was in so much pain!) Sam was understanding of my financial situation (my daughter was getting married and all funds were on her HEN and wedding) and offered me another payment plan, which I went in and sorted out. My regular dentist has commented on what a good colour match and fit my crown is against my other teeth. I am very pleased with the treatment at Blackwater and am hoping to go back for an estimate (without all the drama and emergency) on another crown.
