BSMT is an independent urban contemporary art gallery and bespoke picture framing studio at 529 Kingsland Road, Dalston, East London. Founded in 2015 by Greg Key and Lara Fiorentino, BSMT has spent ten years bringing street and urban artists into a gallery context running eight to ten exhibitions a year, working with over a hundred artists, and offering conservation-quality framing for collectors, artists and interior designers. Situated in the heart of Dalston, we continually work towards curating a space that connects The Street to The Gallery, a gallery space galvanised! Born in 2015 out of a disused black basement with the aim of gaining recognition for emerging talent, the gallery has steadily expanded its reach and diversified its projects, gaining a reputation as a platform that now showcases some of the finest emerging and established UK-based and global artists. Through our active exhibition program we have consistently pushed the boundaries, contributing to the cultural enrichment of East London and solidifying the merit and talent of the diverse roster of Artists we represent across Urban and Contemporary art. We are now ‘ground floor’ but our goals as a gallery remain the same: the support and development of emerging and established artists, to use the gallery to support causes we believe in and to allow the gallery to be a place to create as well as to exhibit. Our roots in the subcultures of Graffiti and Urban Art have ensured we continue to produce authentic exhibitions offering audiences an alternative and refreshing view of the Art World.
Had incredibly good results when the gallery came round to curate & hang 75 pictures in our house .They were so pleasant, very skilled & knowledgeable ,didn't leave any mess & even painted the walls where they moved existing pictures..Been waiting years to get this done & wish I had found them earlier.Still enjoying seeing all our pictures together for the first time & would recommend them 100%
BSMT has framed different pieces of art (e.g., photographs and prints) for me over the last couple of years. They have also helped me with a couple of canvas paintings. I highly recommend their framing services. Greg does excellent work!
BSMT Space, Dalston is a true gem for art lovers. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere—thanks in no small part to the long-haired gentleman who runs the space. His passion for art and people makes the whole experience feel personal and inviting. The gallery itself is filled with superb, thought-provoking works that push boundaries while remaining accessible. It's clear that a lot of thought goes into curation, and the space celebrates superlative creativity in all the right ways. Not only is the art of high quality, but i believe printing and framing are also top-notch. Everything is professionally done, making it a great place to pick up a unique piece for your home or collection.Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates edgy, contemporary art in a cool, friendly environment.
