Candlewood suites is a budget friendly hotel near Port Authority, Times Square, west side Manhattan. Obviously it's not the Waldorf but for price and location it served me well for a business stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful at all times while housekeeping did a good job. Good complimentary coffee and eats to purchase. Lotsa stuff to borrow for extended stay convenience. The slightly musty room had fridge, microwave, stove, dishwasher and laundry available on lower floor. Everything well suited for extended stays. Very pleased for the price and friendly staff made it seem like a bargain. Which it was.

Very spacious room, especially by NYC standards. Extremely clean, very friendly staff, great location. Dove body wash and hair products, a fully equipped kitchen, excellent work space and very comfortable bed. The snacks and ice water in the lobby are a nice touch, as well as the lending cabinet, which has games and books. Great location near Times Square, but away from the noise and chaos. My only suggestion would be to have USB ports in the lamp bases and/or outlets, there are none in the room, so bring adapters! Overall, an excellent stay and I'm looking forward to my next one. Thank you!
I just finished my stay at this hotel in a room with a queen bed and kitchenette. I wanted to leave a clear review because I was very skeptical about this hotel before I booked it. Long story short I would recommend. Kitchenette: If you are looking to save money, the kitchenette comes with a microwave, electric stovetop, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, sink, glassware, pots and pans. It was more than enough for my cooking needs and was very clean on arrival. Room and bathroom: The room was a great size, mine came with a queen bed a small desk space. There was a large TV however it was not a smart TV. So we didn’t really end up using it. The bathroom was basic, it was a good size. Came with hand soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner. All good. Amenities: there was not really much that comes with this hotel as it is pretty standard and a cheaper option. But the staff was very friendly. It did have a gym, which had two benches, weights up to 50 pounds, treadmill, and a stationary bike. In the lobby, there is a small market where you can buy small snacks for purchase from the hotel, there is also free coffee and tea at all hours. Which we definitely took advantage of and the coffee was actually good. Not to mention that most days in the lobby the staff put out free cookies or muffins. Despite what some other reviews said, I noticed that the beds were made every single day. On one occasion, we had spilled food on the sheets and when we returned back that day, we had fresh sheets. So no complaints on the cleanliness. As well on our last day, we were able to check our bags at the hotel for a while, which was very nice. Location: there are so many grocery stores and markets nearby for if you are planning to get a room with a kitchenette. More importantly, it was about 2 to 3 blocks away from the heart of Times Square. While I’m not from New York. I believe the area to be pretty safe. The area is very densely populated, we came back to our hotel as early as 9 o’clock and as late as 1 AM and we had no issues. Overall, if you’re looking for a good budget-friendly hotel this is going to be the one for you. It was nothing special, but it was definitely safe, clean, and we were very happy with our stay.
