Jason Norton of Coast2Coast Mortgage introduced us to Morgan Brookshire LLC and directed us to send that company $3,500 for an appraisal related to an RV park financing project. The appraisal was never completed, and the project was not funded. Morgan Brookshire LLC promised to refund the $3,500. As of today, it has been 108 days since our original refund request on May 12, 2026, and we still have not received the money, a payment confirmation, a check number, tracking information, or a firm payment date. I have repeatedly asked Jason Norton what due diligence or vetting Coast2Coast Mortgage performed on Morgan Brookshire LLC before referring us to them and directing our funds to that company. I have also asked what specific steps he has taken to help recover the money. I have not received a substantive response addressing those questions or resolving the refund. My concern is not simply that the transaction failed. It is that we were directed to send personal and financial information and $3,500 to a lender-related company, yet after the appraisal was not completed and the money was not returned, there has been no meaningful accountability or assistance in recovering the funds. Based on this experience, prospective borrowers should ask detailed questions about lender vetting, handling of borrower information, payment procedures, and refund protections before sending money. I would not recommend proceeding without clear written answers and safeguards in place.
