The staff at Compassionate Mind Therapy have been excellent to work with every single time. The people at the front desk take their job very seriously and I am always impressed by their constant communication and dedicated follow up. They have been super helpful with both billing and rescheduling issues in the past and it's clear they actually care about the patients. The psychologists are great as well!

I personally wouldn't really use the word "compassionate" to describe the staff here and I would suggest thinking very carefully about whether or not coming here is worth the headache. There are plenty of other facilities in town. I just spent three hours of my life on the phone with my insurance company and then the billing department for this business trying to figure out why I was charged differently on various appointment dates. It was frustrating and draining, to say the least. Two times last year a provider I had been seeing was sick and asked if we could do our appointments over video instead of her having to go into the office. Both times I said that's fine, thinking nothing of it. Apparently, my insurance company bills differently for telehealth. I had no idea, so after the appointments I got charged almost $50 more. I obviously would have just said it's fine we can reschedule if I had known that. I explained that to the billing staff member I spoke to and she said "Well, it's on the patient to know what your insurance covers and if telehealth is billed differently... You didn't have to agree right away". Super compassionate stuff right there. I'm generally very careful about knowing what and who my insurance covers but all of my appointments had been $60 copays so I really didn't even consider that they would charge me more or differently in the moment of her asking if we could do video because she didn't feel well enough to go into the office. That being said, my initial appointment with this provider was 100% in person, in office and they charged me for "telemedicine" for that visit too. So, that visit was almost $126 more than it should have been. The funny thing is, I wouldn't have even realized this if I didn't do a financial/insurance deep dive after they let me know I owe them $60 for a visit with a different provider here. TL;DR Maybe I'm an idiot who needs to pay better attention and ask more questions but when this girl was basically like ‘not our problem’ that I got screwed for trying to be accommodating that was really annoying. Also, my insurance company is UMR and they were so nice and helpful about the whole thing. 10/10 would recommend.

I recently reached out to Compassionate Minds in hopes of continuing my mental health care with a smooth transition from my previous provider. They are listed as an option under Blue Cross Blue Shield, and I called in advance to confirm coverage. I provided all my insurance details, including the group number, and specifically requested a provider who was in-network. The front desk kindly assured me that everything had been verified. At my first appointment, I again submitted my insurance card and double-checked that everything was in order. I was told there were no issues and that nothing further was needed. I proceeded with two sessions, feeling encouraged by the care I was receiving. Unfortunately, I was later surprised by a bill for $386.19. After speaking with Compassionate Minds, I learned that incorrect information had been received from the insurance company. When I spoke with Compassionate Minds, they responded openly and took responsibility for the misunderstanding, which I truly appreciated. They acknowledged that the situation was less than ideal and admitted there had been an oversight. I was especially grateful for their willingness to engage in a direct and transparent conversation, and for the owner personally reaching out. She was able to help resolve the issue, which I truly appreciated. Her honesty, compassion, and clear dedication to the organization’s mission were both evident and deeply meaningful.
