Wonderful experience dining at EXP to celebrate our anniversary. The staff and the chefs provided exceptional service with lovely touches to make our evening special. The food was fantastic, with amazing presentation and use of native Australian ingredients. We were really impressed with the way they showcased the vegetables in every dish - overall, everything was executed to perfection. A must visit in the Hunter Valley to celebrate a special occasion!
Incredible presentation on the plate, creative use of seasonal / local Australian produce in the dishes, and exceptional service. I will say that we arrived at 7pm and paid our bill just before 10pm, so the pacing of food for a tasting menu experience like this could be improved. Lots of moments waiting for the next dish. Also, everything was absolutely outstanding, however we both agreed that the only dish to let us down was the main of duck breast, which kind of seems counter intuitive - not seasoned at all and a bit bland. That said, the entire rest of the menu was out of control amazeballs and I will definitely hope to return someday.
The best meal I have ever had. The non alcoholic drink pairing was excellent as well, the sommelier was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The atmosphere was just great and did not feel intimidating at all. Amazing gluten free and nut free options, they were able to adjust my partner and I’s serve so that it was gluten free and nut free without missing out on anything! I was expecting to have to sacrifice some things but I was ecstatic that I was able to experience the same menu.
