Holiday Inn Norwich byIHGPROVerified business?

I had the most awful experience with the evening restaurant staff. This is supposed to be a place of hospitality but they were far from that! They need more training! My group was allowed to have a late night partt on July 11th. Instead of telling us that we had to vacate at 12am they shut the lights off on us!! I was in the middle of eating thr very rude young lady attempted to remove my plate. I told her i was still eating, she responded saying it close!! I asked could I take the plate to my room and rudely/shouted no, while walking away. They could have given us a 20 minute heads up! There was tons of food left and they didn't want to give us an opportunity to pack up! Further, to retaliate against us we were told we were being denied complimentary breakfast. The reason given is because someone asked if they had anything so we could pack our catered food. When our group host communicated our dissatisfaction, they would give us breakfast but in a segregated area! Disrespectful to make such a a suggestion! Probably planned to spit in our food!! It appears this place mostly have Caucasian guest and we as Black people we're not their everyday clients! Warning Black people stay away! 3rd the hotel rooms were molded and smelled terrible. My room had a leaking faucet.

I would have given this hotel 1 star, but I’m giving 2 stars because they eventually moved us to another room. What is most concerning is that Room 310 should never have been assigned in the first place. Our friend stayed in that same room the night before and was told by hotel staff that the room “needed work” and would be taken out of circulation. Less than 24 hours later, we were checked into that exact room with no apparent repairs or improvements made. The room was in poor condition: * The beds had mismatched sheets. * The floors were visibly dirty. * The bathroom smelled strongly of urine. * The bathtub sealant was peeling and coming off. * The entire room had a damp, wet-carpet odor. The fact that management was aware the room had issues severe enough to be removed from circulation, yet rented it out again the next day, is unacceptable. While I appreciate that they eventually moved us, it should not have taken a complaint to address a room that clearly was not ready for guests. However I am 100% sure they cleaned the room for another guest that evening, because they mentioned a “switch”. To make matters worse, we paid $350 for one night. At that price point, guests should expect a clean, well-maintained room—not dirty floors, a bathroom that smells like urine, peeling tub sealant, mismatched bedding, and a strong wet-carpet odor. The condition of the room was completely unacceptable for the rate charged and did not come close to matching the value we received

House Keeping did not check with us daily to make up the room. One day I asked for service, housekeeping said it was on her "list of rooms " to turn up and they never even entered the room even though I was gone all day. 1st morning the restaurant had to call the chef in as he failed to show up to prepare the continental breakfast, he finally showed up to start an hour later.
