tl;dr: I was unimpressed with this hotel. I think the best thing about the Home2Suites might be that the Miracle Mile is in walking distance. Secondarily, most of the staff was helpful like I'd expect from a Hilton property. Thirdly, the breakfast was ample and tasted about as good as I'd expect from a lower-tier Hilton property. We rented a suite with separate bedroom and living room, and it was large but was, in a word...scuzzy. There were dishes in the dishwasher; there was black mold in the shower around the shampoo/conditioner dispensers; there was a chicken-tender-sized chunk of bathroom wall missing; one of the bathroom sliding-door latches was bent and inoperable; the room smelled at least a little bit like stale cigarettes; there were stains all over the bathroom walls; I had to go spelunking in a cabinet to find a working power outlet, as the bedroom lamp was plugged into one that was inoperable; the windows were cloudy and generally unwashed. Speaking of the windows, there were greasy prints at shoulder-height -- they didn't look necessarily like hand-prints, but they were definitely from SOME body part that could press against a window at shoulder-height. Randomly, the elevators had prominently-posted signs that they could only hold six people or they would break. This was not a cheap hotel room, either. We had a DISCOUNTED rate of nearly $300/night for this room, and except for the location, it did not feel worth that rate, let alone whatever the standard rate would be. I travel for work and stay at Hilton properties pretty exclusively, and this one was not up to the standard that the brand usually promises -- I've stayed in cheap Hampton Inns in the middle of nowhere that were much nicer. Maybe we just got a dog of a room and it wasn't typical...but also maybe not, and my wife and I agree that we would not stay here again.

The hotel room had a strong unpleasant odor, similar to dirty socks. The chair in the room had large stains and appeared musty and dirty. The sofa bed was equally unclean, and the bed sheets looked extremely old, as if they had not been replaced in years. The carpet was also visibly dirty throughout the room. We specifically chose this hotel because we were told a skillet would be available free of charge. We were traveling with our 5-year-old child, who often requires simple cooked meals, so having access to a skillet was important. However, after several calls to the front desk, we never received one. When we followed up again, the front desk associate told us, “If you don’t have it by now, we won’t have it for you.” His response was rude and unaccommodating. Additionally, there was no iron in the room. After requesting one, it took a considerable amount of time to be delivered. This delay caused me to be late getting ready for my conference, and I was unable to arrive at an important meeting on time. Overall, the cleanliness of the room, the lack of advertised amenities, and the poor customer service made for a very disappointing stay.

The room was great. It was simple, yet clean and one of the first places I've stayed that had a dishwasher in my room. All the staff were extremely friendly both at the front desk and housekeeping. The food was average. Decent choices although I wasn't overly impressed,. However, the location of the hotel more than made up for it, as it is located in the center of more food and shopping options than you can count. I will book here again in the future.
