Me and my brother came in around late December 2024/early January 2025 since our ~$700 HP Victus gaming laptop had a stripped M.2 screw and we wanted it removed. While we were here the screw was drilled into and successfully removed, but the laptop never turned on again afterward even though it was working just fine that same morning. I assume metal from the drilling landed on the unprotected motherboard and fried it. The blame was pinned on us since there was a spilled liquid on the laptop (stains from about a year ago) even though it was working right before we came in for the repair and stopped working right after. No compensation was provided and we paid $40 or so for the screw removal, but I guess we did get the SSD out lol. If you're coming here for a stripped screw, definitely ask them how they're going to protect the motherboard. Edit: To clarify, it was an M.2 SSD screw, not a hard drive screw. It worked fine that same morning, and we tested it in the shop right after the drilling, that's when we saw that the laptop was no longer turning on. If the laptop broke because of the liquid damage from last year, it would not have stopped working immediately after the drilling. Liquid damage usually causes problems gradually over time rather than a sudden complete failure a year later. The timing points to the repair being the cause, not that prior liquid spill. I understand you have a flat $40 rate for shop visits, I'm not arguing with that, but my point is that my gaming laptop stopped working during the repair at your shop, and the reasoning given was that it had nothing to do with the metal screw drilling over an unprotected motherboard, but a liquid spill from a year ago.

What an awesome team and establishment. I had a (in my opinion) catastrophic issue with my tower and Joe put me at ease. He let me know that though this was bad, he could fix it. Not only was he super communicative and willing to help. He had a great attitude and was an awesome businessman. He got the fix done in 20 mins and was fun to talk to while accomplishing the goal. It was awesome being around someone who could talk the language and keep it on a level that was easy to understand. I had a great time hanging out and look forward to coming back.
