Here’s my journey through getting a MC license in Sweden with this family-owned and operated school. First let me start with why I rated it 5 of 5 stars. They made this journey as easy as possible to achieve my goal, a MC license. They did it with compassion, attention to detail, a feeling of belonging to a family and a clear roadmap for success with support along the way. If you stop reading here, remember this, 80% success rate first time through all the steps if you get support. Yes support costs money but compared to doing your training 3 minutes at a time when you attempt the practical test and the Trafikverket Instructor thanks you for coming and then sends you home is WAY more expensive!! As a native English speaker with about a 10 year old’s grasp of Swedish, make that 9, I needed a school which could work with me in English. When I first did my search for schools, my first question was if I could take this in English, of the 7 or so schools I called, all but JP’s said, “Nej!” I spoke with Bridget at JP’s and she was super helpful, and said yes, they could handle my request for English. Let me interject that JP’s is only one block away from the Sundbyberg commuter train station so getting there is super easy and centrally located. The following is a break-down of the steps to get a license and what parts can be done in English vs. Swedish: 1. Risk 1: This is offered at JP’s in a classroom setting where there is a lengthy discussion (approx 3 hours) about all the aspects that one can actually control when it comes to safety. Brief summary, with proper planning, as a MC driver, you can address about 95% of the risks out there. This is done in Swedish. 2. Risk 2: If you’re like me, you’ll click with some nice people in the classroom during Risk 1 and you’ll book the Risk 2 class with them. In my class at Gillingebana, there were 4 of us in the class. We had Göran as an instructor who is super easy going and nice. He really has a deep level of compassion for ensuring his students fully grasp the risks both of mishandling a MC and possibly more importantly, how other road users affect MCs. This training was in Swenglish. If your Swedish is bad, simply be last in line and you’ll see the skill performed 3 times before it’s your turn. Fun day at the track, just be prepared to have a good experience. 3. Practice Driving & Practical Test: In the end, no one is getting through the final license test without truly being able to demonstrate how to handle a MC safely. Below is a YouTube link on what you need to be able to do flawlessly on the track before you actually are allowed out onto the road. PUT YOUR TIME IN ON LOW SPEED BANA https://youtu.be/iCMS1i8lDoQ?feature=shared JP’s offers packages of trainings with hours of practice time and Risk 1 & 2 etc… Many options here. I made the mistake of paying for the lessons one at a time thinking that I’d only need a few hours of training since I’ve been riding a MC in another country for about 34 years. In the end, I should have purchased the 10 or more package because I truly did need more than what I initially thought. Again, pay now or pay later. MC Larare: I worked with two, Firas, mainly on the bana training and Martin on the road training. Both have a passion for MCs and their students. Martin was great for my style of learning as he offers tons of information! He truly LOVES his job and it shows. He provides excellent tips on handling the MC while peppering in specifically what skills will be scrutinized during the test. TIP: book 3 hour Landsvag training the day before your test and also one hour warm-up immediately before your practical. Money and time well spent!! Drive the roads you’ll test on the day before and get tips on what to look for during the test. 4. The theory test for a MC license is ONLY in SWEDISH but, you can take it with a “tolk” an interpreter. JPs can help get this approval. I used 2 apps to study, one from the JPs and another, which I viewed with my Chrome translator so it was in English. Tolk bookings take a long time so I took it in SV.

I've got my motorcycle licence with this school. Instructors are very nice and professional. They have shown me everything I needed to pass the driving test and be safe on the road. All instructors speak english which was an important thing for me. Motorcycles are fresh and in good condition. Big thanks to Firas & Co for leading me through this path to the A category.
