First time at Just Smash tonight, was looking for a small late night snack. The service was incredible and fast, our food was delicious and we were even left with a very sweet note thanking us for ordering with them. We ordered the fried Mac & cheese bites and the cheesy loaded fries. The food was above average and fairly priced for the quality received. I will be returning very soon. 10/10 recommend.
The food itself was good. The burgers were tasty, the shakes were enjoyable, and I really wanted to make Just Smashed one of our regular takeout spots. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. We ordered through Grubhub and were charged about $5 more per item than the prices listed on the restaurant’s in-store menu. For two burgers, two shakes, and a soda, that amounted to more than $25 in additional charges before delivery fees and tip. Our total came to over $63, which is hard to justify for a meal of that size. To make matters worse, the Grubhub driver picked up our order, drove past our location to pick up another order, and our food arrived about 20 minutes later than it should have. The fries were cold and soggy, and the shakes had partially melted. I contacted the restaurant directly. They apologized for the cold food and said they would “look into” the Grubhub pricing and discuss it with Grubhub. While I appreciate the courteous response, they never actually addressed the excessive price increases or acknowledged that customers are being charged roughly $5 extra per item. There was no explanation, no clarification, and no indication that customers would be made whole. I understand that third-party delivery services can create challenges, but when menu prices are inflated this much and the restaurant doesn’t directly address those overcharges, it’s difficult to recommend ordering this way. The food deserves better than the delivery experience, but until the pricing issue is transparently addressed, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
The place was immaculate. It’s nice to see such a clean establishment. The burger was great. We’ll definitely come back.
