My experience with Kayra Cabs was not that satisfactory, and I would not highly recommend their service for long-distance travel. Although their pricing was competitive and the booking process was smooth, the actual travel experience was far from satisfactory. The biggest issue was that the FASTag was inactive when the trip started. We were forced to wait for around 40 minutes at the very first toll plaza while a new FASTag was arranged. The worst part is that I had already informed Kayra Cabs two days before the trip after verifying online that the FASTag was inactive. Despite having enough time, they failed to fix the issue, showing a complete lack of basic pre-trip checks. To avoid further delay, I had to pay ₹1,200 for a new FASTag. I had clearly informed them that ₹600 was the recharge amount and that I was willing to contribute ₹100 towards activation to speed up the process. However, while refunding my security deposit, Kayra Cabs wrongfully deducted another ₹300 and put the responsibility of inactive fast tag on me . After repeated follow-ups and arguments, they finally refunded it. Another major disappointment was that the music system in the Innova was completely non-functional. For a long road trip from Gurgaon to Udaipur, a working music system is a basic expectation, and its absence made the journey unnecessarily tiring and uncomfortable. When I reported the issue, Kayra Cabs admitted that they did not have the password for the infotainment system. We even tried resetting it, but that did not resolve the problem. Instead of providing a solution, the Kayra Cabs representative casually suggested, "Take it to some Toyota person, and he will fix it." This response was completely unacceptable. I was already in the middle of my trip, travelling through unfamiliar locations, and it was unreasonable to expect me to search for a Toyota service centre or a technician to fix a problem that should have been resolved before the vehicle was handed over. As a result, I had to give up on having any music throughout the journey, making the long drive far more exhausting than it should have been. Additionally, the vehicle was speed-limited to 85 km/h. While safety is important, such a restriction makes little sense on modern expressways where higher legal speeds are permitted. It unnecessarily increases travel time on long routes, and I should be informed about this limitation before booking. Overall, the service suffered from poor vehicle preparation, operational inefficiencies, and an inconvenient refund process. Competitive pricing alone cannot compensate for these shortcomings. I would recommend that travelers consider other cab providers unless these issues are addressed. Tip for future customers: Record all your phone calls and keep screenshots of all chats, payments, and important communications. This will help protect you if any dispute arises later. I learned this the hard way and strongly recommend keeping proper evidence to avoid the kind of issues I faced.
