We booked a time slot for a guided tour 3 hours in advance, the communication was excellent through WhatsApp, no payment required in advance only time slot reservation. We had a guided tour with Jenny and it was an amazing experience. We saw sloths moving and sleeping, lizards, frogs, birds and bats. She was helping us taking good pictures through the telescope and changing ankles for children to see the animals better. The hike is very short, easy and safe. Highly recommend for families with young children. At the end we made our own sugar cane juice and tortillas and had a snack break.

Amazing sloth watching tour at La Fortuna Hikes and Trails. Away from the tourist crowds but still in town, easy to reach and lots to see! We went for 11am tour after rainy morning, got to meet the owner “Eagle Eye” and with help of our super knowledgeable guid we got to see baby sloth, 2 and 3- fingered sloths (about 5 of of them), poisonous frog, birds, some sort of gator and very well camouflage porcupine. The tour ends with sugarcane juice making and you get to make your own tortilla after what you get to have a snack of traditional tortilla and cheese and tortilla with gallo de picadillo and fresh juice. Our family had a great time and highly recommend if you trying to see sloths in the area

Amazing experience seeing both two toed and three toed sloths in a natural habitat. This place is off the main path so way less touristy than some other more popular places. It was just our family and three other people on the morning tour and our guide was so knowledgeable and informative. After the tour we pressed sugar cane and made tortillas and they fed us a small lunch of tortillas with cheese, rice, and fresh juice! Highly recommend this family-run nature reserve!
