Moonlight Travels and registered the organisation with the Jammu & Kashmir Government Tourism Department. Ever since we have been organising adventure and leisure holidays in the Ladakh and Zanskar regions. Based in Leh the laid back capital of Ladakh, we specialize in leisure and adventure tours and have been offering the discerning traveler and trekker, excellent services for over two decades. Comprising a team of tour and adventure activity professionals, our objective has always been to offer well organized and hassle free holidays and treks to all our guests. Our well researched and time tested trek itineraries have been appreciated by many of our world wide clients who have often returned to explore more of our eco friendly tours. In 1995 we secured for the first time a permit for a small film crew to enter the Restricted Area of Nubra. They came back bubbling over with enthusiasm for a truly beautiful and undiscovered part of the Himalaya. In the late 90s we had groups who completed the trek and again came back with fabulous reports of the place and the people. Always concerned about the ecology of the area, and understanding the need for eco tourism in Ladakh, we have often undertaken cleaning drives on trekking trails. In 2004, we organised a massive clean up programme around the Tso Moriri and Tsokar lake shores. We did this with the cooperation of ALTOA (All Ladakh Tour Operators Association). In 2005 we got together 24 members of the local travel operators association and 9 overseas visitors and again went on a cleaning drive around some of the more popular trekking trails. We seriously intend to continue this so that all our trekkers enjoy their treks without coming across garbage and other unwanted paraphernalia on our trails. We know that the Changthang wetlands and grass pastures need protection as the Changpa nomads depend entirely on the precious grass that grows on this extensive plateau. Being professional tour operators, we understand that our customers just want one thing - a well organized, problem free holiday or adventure. Highly disappointing experience with the Moonlight. Specially with the cab driver which was assigned to us. He was completely professionalism and after completing the trip his Tone was rude and using abusing words with us. We planned trip for 4 days 1 - day - leh to khardungla to nubra valley 2 - Day - nubra valley to pangong 3 - Day - Pangong distance to Leh 3 - Day - need to cover Local tour in Leh. 4 - Day - Drop at airport However we covered only Gurudwara Shri Pathar Sahib , Magnetic hill , Sangam and Hall of fame. He denied to cover For - Shanti stupa and Leh Palace and demanding paying more money to visit these 2 places. Also he was forced us to pay complete amount on 3 day however our airport drop was pending when we denied then he was threating to us with the local people which show the professionalism of the driver ( Pura amount pay karo abhi and start using abusing in the main market ) Also driver was drunk every everyday 😡 I would never recommend Moonlight Travel to anyone. Do yourself a favour and find a local driver directly instead of Online mode.

The knowledge and care of Moonlight travels is exceptional. We entered their shop on our vacation with no plans, and Ngawang soon had an 8-day trek with poneyman organized for us. He works with kind taxi drivers, and the total experience was carefree, such that we could just focus on enjoying our trek. After being in the business for almost 3 decades, Ngawang knows how to organize a trek, from the minimalist to the comfortable. He is honest and not in the business for the money — he truly cares about his clients. If you’re thinking of trekking in Ladakh, don’t fool around, go here first.
