My daughters and I have both taken classes here - most recently took an alterations class here and learned such valuable skills in a really welcoming, hands-on space. Definitely recommend for any skill level. The staff is great too - they’re really helpful when picking out fabrics and supplies, and they take the time to give thoughtful, personal advice. High quality fabrics and lots of notions as well!
Love this store! Everyone is so sweet and helpful! They helped me with selecting fabric to quilt this Frog and Toad inspired quilt for my grandson. I used a T-shirt for the center and they instructed me what to use to incorporate it into the quilt so it wouldn't be wonky! Every fabric was purchased here except the T-shirt. Love this place!
I took an intro to sewing class with Julia and Deirdre after not having sewn for over 30 years! The pace of the class was perfectly balanced. It was slow enough for beginners, but not too slow, so as to lose my attention. Julia is super knowledgeable and vivacious, delivering delightful mnemonics throughout the class to help us remember what we learn. The shop is beautiful and the tools that we utilized were top quality. I wish I had stopped in Old Spool sooner. I plan to take more classes.
