Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, located in Brownstown Township, Michigan, is one of several properties operated by CFCS Detroit — Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services — a ministry of the Archdiocese of Detroit. Our Lady of Hope Cemetery was founded in 1962 by Rev. Robert F. Allen, then director of Catholic Cemeteries for the Archdiocese, and was dedicated on September 16, 1962 by Archbishop John Francis Dearden. Spanning 320 acres, with 60 developed for burials, Our Lady of Hope Cemetery has hosted more than 26,000 interments, including state representatives, Downriver mayors, priests, and athletes. Facilities at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery include indoor and outdoor mausoleums, columbaria, glass- and marble-front niches, and family estate plots, with a monthly Mass held at the St. John Paul II Mausoleum. Beyond this location, CFCS Detroit manages several other Catholic cemeteries across the region, including Holy Cross, Holy Sepulchre, and Mount Carmel.
