I cannot recommend Real City Tours highly enough. This was my first tour with them, and the Walking Tour was one of the several best experiences of my visit. Our guide, Julio, was absolutely wonderful. He shared the history of Medellín with so much knowledge, honesty, and passion, while also explaining how he and other local people view the city and its past. He made the history feel personal, meaningful, and alive. The tour took us through several different neighborhoods, and Julio always made sure we felt comfortable and informed. He gave helpful safety advice as we moved between areas, allowed plenty of time for breaks, and welcomed every question from the group. Everything was very well organized, and the communication before the tour was excellent. Julio’s warmth and genuine love for his city made this a truly memorable experience and a wonderful introduction to Medellín.

If you’re visiting Medellín, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Real City Tours. We took the free walking tour with Germán, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. His energy, storytelling, and knowledge of Medellín’s history kept us engaged from start to finish. What we appreciated most was that the tour didn’t just cover the city’s attractions. It provided real insight into the people, culture, challenges, and transformation of Medellín. Germán did an excellent job sharing both the difficult parts of the city’s history and the resilience that makes Medellín what it is today. Beyond the tour itself, he also shared great recommendations for food, drinks, and things to do around the city. We left with a much deeper appreciation for Medellín and the Paisa culture. This tour is technically free, but it’s absolutely worth supporting with a generous tip. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Medellín for the first time!
