If you are looking for a fun and atmospheric quiz night do not go here. We were stopped from drinking after 1 single drink, due to celebrating our rare point wins and enjoying a quiz in the way I would expect a quiz to be. Unfortunately, there was no common courtesy to let us know we were being too loud for what they deemed appropriate for their usual quiz atmosphere. Ultimately, we left after less than an hour and only one drink, feeling like our night had been ruined and we had been bashed from enjoying a drink and a quiz in what is usually a busy and upbeat city.

Disappointing experience at Social 8. I ordered two Mojitos, but they were far from the refreshing classic you’d expect. The glasses were mostly crammed with ice and overloaded with sweetener, leaving almost no room for actual flavor or spirit. It felt more like a sugary slush than a premium cocktail. Great vibe, but the drinks really need more balance and less filler.

Pooped in here for a couple of drinks and bite to eat while staying in York for the night. It was lovely, food was nice and cocktails good too! The service is great, friendly and very attentive staff… we will certainly come again on our next visit, I’d highly recommend the place, beautiful decor too.
