I took my 3-year-old child to this clinic today because they had a painful toothache. Before booking the appointment, I specifically asked whether they had a pediatric dentist, and I was told they did. That was the only reason I booked with this practice.
I clearly explained that my 3-year-old had a cavity and would most likely need a filling. However, when we arrived for the appointment, the dentist immediately said my child was too young and needed to be seen by a pediatric dentist instead. They then sent referral emails to a few pediatric dentists, as if this couldn't have been done before I paid for an appointment.
In the end, I paid €100, my child is still in pain, and we received no treatment at all.
I only wish I had read the reviews from other parents beforehand. I can now see that several families had exactly the same experience.
Sadly, it feels like some clinics in Ireland see parents as an easy way to make money instead of helping children who are in pain. I hope one day you experience the same frustration as a parent or with someone in your own family, because perhaps then you will understand how unacceptable this is.
I have a voice recording and will be seeking legal advice and escalating this matter to the relevant authorities regarding the clinic's billing practices.
