I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Soho Sandton City. I booked soft gel tips and gel toes, and the entire appointment felt like I was being upsold without proper communication. Despite telling the staff multiple times that I did not want a pedicure, I was given one anyway, which significantly increased my bill. I ended up paying around R2,700, which is an outrageous amount considering the quality of the service I received. The biggest issue was my nail art. When it came time to do the design, my nail technician suggested using stickers instead of hand-painted nail art, implying it would be a more affordable option. I expressed my concern because, in my experience, nail stickers tend to peel and don’t last. She reassured me that it would be perfectly fine because she would seal them with a rubber base. Instead, I was charged around R90 per sticker (over R300 for just six stickers), despite the fact that the stickers themselves likely cost only a fraction of that. To make matters worse, I later realised I had essentially paid the same amount I would have paid for proper nail art. The quality was unacceptable. Before I had even made it home, one of the stickers had already chipped. Now they’re peeling and look terrible, exactly as I was worried they would. On top of that, there are visible air bubbles trapped in the top coat, making the nails look poorly finished overall. When you’re charging premium prices, customers should receive premium workmanship and transparent pricing. Instead, I left feeling overcharged, ignored, and disappointed with nails that started deteriorating almost immediately. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning, and I cannot recommend Soho Sandton City based on this experience.
Great service as always. I have to mention Jadel and her excellent skills and service. First time she did my nails I was so impressed and happy that I specifically asked for her again and she did not disappoint. This has always been my go to place whenever I'm in Jo'burg and through them I met her. Thank you SOHO and thank you Jadel. ❤️
