We were incredibly fortunate to have our son enrolled with Shala from the toddler years through his pre-teen years. Throughout that time, Shala provided a safe, nurturing, and loving environment where our son truly thrived. His social skills, education, confidence, and independence were all nurtured and developed under her care. More than just a daycare, Star’s Childcare became an extension of our family. We were always treated with genuine care and kindness, and our son could not wait to get there each day. Knowing he was happy, safe, and surrounded by people who genuinely cared about him gave us tremendous peace of mind as parents. We look back with an incredible amount of respect and gratitude for the role Shala played in our son’s life. She was an important part of helping us raise him into the wonderful young man he is today, and for that, we will always be grateful. Stars Childcare is a licensed family daycare and childcare centre in Westwood Plateau, Coquitlam, lovingly run by Shala Monfred since 1994. In a warm home setting, children ages 0 to 5 are cared for like family, with gentle routines, early learning, music, movement, stories, art, outdoor play, snacks, nap time and free play. Families value the safe, clean, caring environment, large backyard, and the feeling that Stars is a second home where children can feel known, loved and encouraged as they grow.

My youngest daughter attended Stars Daycare and from time to time, my older daughter did as well. The love and care, safety, and education in the form of play provided to both our children was outstanding! My girls are adults now but they still have a special place in their hearts for Shala and her family ♥️
I attended Shala’s daycare from 6 months old until around 4 years old. I am 31 now, and still have so many fond memories. Shala the owner is amazing, kind and nurturing. We still keep in touch to this day, and I would recommend this daycare to anyone!
