Built by the Grace Brothers in the late 1920s as a showpiece of their successful retail business, The Grace Hotel has been beautifully restored to its former glory, making it one of Sydney’s most prominent historical landmarks. It is a fine example of Neo-Gothic architecture with a contrasting Art Deco interior featuring a unique blend of old-world charm with modern comfort.
Loved the history this hotel offered along with it's majesty within and without whilst still having the rooms furnished in modem decor. Everything you need with friendly service and great access to the central city and a short walk to the Sydney harbor bridge. Would happily stay again 😁
Grace hotel is a beautiful building, in a great location. Nice clean modern, very spacious room (we had a family room with 2 singles and a king). Comfortable beds. There were some complimentary chocolates (assuming for my daughter who had competed at a cheerleading competition which they were aware of). Very cute! Free non-alcoholic mini bar is a great touch, however, only 2 still waters supplied and there were 3 of us booked in. The 2nd day we were there, upon request for 3 waters, we were only allowed 2 still waters. They offered sparkling but I don't really understand why we couldn't just have 3 still (not a huge complaint as we appreciated free juice water and soft drinks) but seemed a little silly. Service was fantastic from the reception staff. We arrived with my daughter who had just injured her ankle and they were very helpful, delivering ice bucket and ice pack to the room. Let downs in my opinion were .. no free movies channels on the tv and room service was an absolute joke, tried phoning 5 times with no answer, it was only around 7pm (a Sunday) and we were starving for some dinner. Reception did not answer either. We couldn't go out as it was raining and my daughter was not able to walk far. The reception staff were very apologetic the next day and assured me they wouldn't miss any calls from our room again but that wasn't overly helpful at the time. Overall lovely central hotel and not too expensive, would stay again and would recommend, but I think they really need to change who supplies their room service (the pub downstairs).
We had a wonderful stay at The Grace Hotel Sydney. From the moment we arrived, Theresa and the team made us feel incredibly welcome. Theresa was especially kind and went above and beyond by arranging a room upgrade so we could be closer to our family, which we greatly appreciated. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. As a lovely surprise, we were also welcomed with a bottle of bubbly in our room, which made our stay feel extra special. Thank you to Theresa and the entire team for your outstanding hospitality and attention to detail. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend The Grace Hotel to anyone visiting Sydney.
