Saw their yard sign on a lawn a couple streets over and wrote the number down on a receipt in the truck. Booking was further out than I wanted, close to two weeks, which is a long time when ants are running a route across the counter every night. Day off the tech showed up in the back half of the window. Polite. Didn't try to small talk which I appreciated. Pointed him at the kitchen, the bathroom where silverfish had been showing up, and the garage corner with spiders. He got to it. Took his time out back in the heat we got going, would not want that as a job. Was gonna offer the guy water but by the time I. Before he left he said the spider thing was mostly because there were other bugs around for them to eat, kill the food of and they move on, which tracked. After he packed up I went and checked the baseboards and the bathroom and the garage corner myself because I don't take people's word. All clean. Price was a notch above what I had in my head but not enough to argue. Ten days in, counter quiet, no silverfish, garage normal. Fine by me.

Found these guys off a Nextdoor thread where about eight people were piling on the same name, which I figured was either organic or one of those situations where the owner's cousins are posting. Whatever. Punta Gorda summer has been doing its usual thing where the humidity makes you want to lay on the tile floor and every time I crack the lanai door something flies in. Had palmetto bugs in the garage and I'd been ignoring it for weeks because I assumed it was the season. It was not just the season. Booked it on a Wednesday, lady on the phone was normal, no script energy, just told me when somebody could come out. They sent a text the day before which I appreciated because my brain is mush lately. Tech showed up when he said. Was here long enough to do the job and not so long he was making a project of it. He said something about the bugs following the moisture line under the slab, which tracked even if I couldn't repeat it back. He clipped a potted plant on the way out and helped me sweep up. Not a big deal. Bugs are gone. Will use them again.

Called them because the ants were not going away on their own. Figured it would be like everything else. Pay money and nothing changes. So I was ready to be annoyed. The guy came out and first thing he did was ask where I had been seeing them. Not just spray and go. He did inside first. Kitchen, around the sinks, the closets, the baseboards. Then outside, all around the house. One small thing, he knocked over a little pot by the back door and the dirt went everywhere. He cleaned it himself and said sorry for it, no drama, so I am not going to make it a thing. He told me the ants were coming in from one spot near the kitchen and following the same line every time, like they have their own little road. That stuck with me for some reason. Made sense when he put it like that. Been a few weeks now and they are gone. Not less. Gone. No spiders in the garage corners either which I did not even ask about but I will take it. Price was a bit more than I wanted to hear and I will be honest about that. I sat with it for a second. But I watched him work and he did not rush any of it so for the work I think it is fair money. He did not try to pile extra stuff on me which I half waited for. I do not write these. The experience was good so here it is. Would have them back.
